Why isn’t your service selling? You’re doing all the things… at least it feels like it, and you aren’t seeing the results you want to see in your business. But there are so many variables, so many moving parts – how can you figure out what isn’t working so that you can do something about it?
Sales doesn’t come naturally to many entrepreneurs. The truth is that being, for example, a designer, is NOT the same thing as running a design business. Being a copywriter, photographer or creative expert is not the same as building a business that offers these services, either. And same thing if you’re a coach, educator or therapist – professionally executing that role is not the same thing as building a business around it.
The difference is marketing and sales. Finding your own clients. This is the biggest difference between being employed by someone else, where clients are usually found for you, and having the job of bringing in your own clients.
And that’s what I want to unpack with you today on this episode because sales terrifies so many of us. We don’t want to feel pushy or slimy or gross. We don’t want to pressure or convince people to buy from us. We have a lot of thoughts about sales and people who sell things, and they create a lot of doubt, fear and overwhelm within us that honestly keep us from being able to serve the clients we dream of serving doing the work that we feel so called to.
As a service provider and entrepreneur, if your services aren’t selling – either aren’t selling at all, or aren’t selling at the level you’d like, there are so many pieces, it can be hard to figure out where the problem is – what you can do differently to see different results. That’s what I want to help you with today, to shine a light on what might be holding you back from seeing the kind of sales and revenue you dream of seeing in your business.
There are a number of reasons your services might not be selling, and I’m walking through five of them with you on this episode of BEYOND: The Podcast for Moms Called to Business.
