Busy is a reality of life for many working moms.
Days are hurried, rushing from one thing to the next. We wake up in a hurry to get everyone out the door, or to get to the part of our day where the work begins. We rush through work, thinking that the faster we go, the quicker we can see our families, make dinner, do the homework and activities – and get everyone to bed.
The days feel like a blur from the moment our alarm goes off in the morning until our heads hit the pillow that night.
This is what a hurried, overbusy life looks like – and it has become our normal.
Our distracted, hurried and busy lives are incompatible with what our souls really crave: more peace and more presence. We’re tired of feeling like we’re just getting by and surviving. We were made for more than survival. Busy is the enemy of peace – busy steals our joy, robs our attention and keeps us from being present to what matters most.
